Gang Show December 2011

On Monday 5th December 2011  the 1st Bartons Cubs, Scouts and Leaders stepped well and truely out of their comfort zones and ventured on to "The Boards" in their very own Gang Show.  For the Scouts it was part of their Community Challenge badge as they had to raise money for a local group/charity.  On the night we managed to raise money selling lucky programmes, providing refreshments and running a Tombola and now we are going to buy some toys for  the Busy Bees in  Middle Barton.
The programme was made up of an ecletic mix of talents and every act was a highlight.  The Scouts were set the task to come up with an act, those who didnt want to appear on stage helped with refreshements, front of house, or back stage moving props etc. Sam , Tom and Luke wrote their own sketch based on Dads Army entittled Scouts Army which did unfortunately involve resusitatng the Chief Scout due to a mix up about a  Bear! We had juggling and unicycling,Martial Arts, Tap Dancing, African drumming and flute playing not at the same time ( well the juggling and teh unicycling nearly was)l and a marvellous Ronnie Corbett and Harry Enfiled sketch about a Frozen Blackebery which Sam J and Jack S had the audience  rolling in the aisles with. The scoust half ended with a marvellous electric guitar solo by Jack
The Cubs started with their very own 007 Gregory playing his Saxaphone, unfortunately he had bit of a problem with his music stand but 00 Pengiun  stepped up with a helping wing The Cubs then gave  the audience an insight into an International Camp ( 2013!!) in Penguin Country which was quite appropiate as the rogue Pengiun did seem to keep appearing thoughout the show!.  The Leadership team entertained us with their own Christmas Carol set in Scooges woggle Factory a more touching story of hardship you woule not have seen on the BBC this Christmas.  Written and Directed by our very own Kaa and even featuring our Old GSl and now DDC Nick.
The show ended in truwe Panto style with everyone on stage for a quick rendition of The 12 Days Of camp including props with Dave " Ospey" on his guitar!!

Thats all Folks until next time!!!!!!!!
