Cub Camp - Youlbury Scout Activity Centre - May 2010.

Cubs went to their "second home" in May for a Spring Camp and all gained their Outdoor Challenge or Outdoor Challenge Plus ( the first 2 to be presented at 1st Bartons!)
The Beavers were also onsite having their sleepover, so joined the cubs for supper and breakfast; joint Camp Olympics and even allowed them to use "the Cub fires " to cook dough twists and cremate marshmallows!!.



5 Beavers swim up to Cubs

On 18th Jan, we  had a very special 'swimming up' and investiture ceremony. No less than 5 Beavers were going to 'swim up' to Cubs. We've never had so many go up at the same time!

For those who don't know, the Beavers had to remove their Beaver tops and dive under the water of a river (ok its a blue/green sheet because the River Dorn is wet and cold!). While under the water, Beavers turn into Cubs and pop out of the other side of the river in their brand new Cub tops. Clearly a little magic happens along the way!

The 5 lucky Beavers were then immediately invested into the best Cub pack in the district, by Kaa (who is really good at investing!)
This means that we now have 2 girls in the Pack. There really is no excuse for more to join now!
